Via MSNBC:
Rudy Giuliani, who sought to make the leap from New York mayor to the White House, dropped out of the Republican presidential campaign on Wednesday and endorsed front-runner John McCain for the nomination.
Giuliani made the announcement at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library a day after suffering a debilitating defeat in Tuesday’s Florida primary.
With McCain at his side, Giuliani said the nation needed “someone who can be trusted in times of crisis.” Read more…

After receiving Rudy’s endorsement, Senator McCain invokes…you guessed it, 9/11. $50,000,000 just doesn’t buy what it used to, does it Mr. Mayor? All that cash earned him exactly 1 delegate and he got smoked by Ron Paul in the process. He ran a horrible campaign and despite the best efforts of the media, he DID try to compete in the earlier primaries — but the more people heard him speak, the less they liked him. I’m sure he’ll land on his feet, he may just earn a few thousand less $$ for his “Hero of 9/11” lectures now. By the way, Rudy has attacked McCain as recently as Monday, and he probably should have removed all the McCain smears from his website before he endorsed him.

Govunah Ahhnold won last nights Republican debate which was staged in front of the shiny Air Force One 707 that the Gipper once flew at the Reagan Libary in SoCal. Huckabee scored points for holding hands with Nancy. But the Govunah Ahhnold terminated speculation that he was not in the running for the GOP nomination with his comments that the debate lacked any kind of content on his MSNBC interview. “No one talked about the issues.” was the comment from the cyborg from the future sent to steal the GOP nomination. “It was a waste of time”, said Ahhnold never one to mince words.

MARK STEYN: “I’m getting a bit tired of Senator McCain’s anti-business shtick. The line about serving ‘for patriotism, not for profit’ is pathetic. America spends more on its military than the next 35-40 biggest military spenders on the planet combined: Where does he think the money for that comes from? . . . If greed is to be punishable, why doesn’t he start with a pilot program applied to, say, the United States Senate and report back to us in five years how that’s going?”
Indeed.

“Look out Chuck Norris, Sylvester’s comin’ after you. He’s comin’ after you and he’s going to get you. You better run! Chuck, you can run but you can’t hide!” - John McCain to Fox News reporter in West Palm Beach. McCain repeated the admonition to the Texas Ranger and Huckabee at last nights GOP debate.

Movie stars Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone will square off in Madison Square Garden next week
New York, NY (APE) - Immediately after announcing his support for Republican presidential candidate John McCain, action film star Sylvester Stallone issued an immediate challenge to fellow film star Chuck Norris who has been campaigning with previously front running Republican candidate Mike Huckabee. Stallone proposed a no holds barred, winner take all cage match between himself and Norris, with the proceeds to go to the winner’s candidate. Sources close to the Huckabee campaign have stated that Norris has accepted, and the match will occur sometime next week in Madison Square Garden prior to the “Super Tuesday” primaries in February .
Both candidates are excited at the prospect of bolstering cash-strapped campaigns.
“I’m very proud to do what I can to support the original Rambo,” stated Stallone of Arizona Senator John McCain. “Yo, this guy can take a pounding. I like Chuck and all, and I’m just honored to be in the same ring with him, but I really believe I can take him. And yo, check out our new website, Facts About Sylvester Stallone.com.”
A spokesperson for the Rudy Giuliani campaign scoffed at the trend of Republican presidential candidates touting such endorsements. “Mr. Giuliani doesn’t need some Hollywood actor to help make him look tough,” he stated, “he is a true leader with the means to have problems taken care of quickly and quietly.” The campaign denied that negotiations with film star Steven Segal had reached an impasse.
A spokesperson for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign refused to confirm or deny rumors that they were concluding negotiations for an endorsement from former child television actor and current reality TV star Danny Bonaduce.

John McCain today announced his withdrawal from the 2008 Presidential race, citing low poll numbers, lackluster fundraising and other campaign difficulties. “We just weren’t able to pull it all together,” McCain admitted, “and it’s time to get out.”
In a surprise move, McCain endorsed little-known GOP candidate Ron Paul. Paul, he said, “is the real straight talker in the campaign.” Returning to the more aggressive tone he had moderated as a candidate, McCain asserted that Paul would “stick by his damn guns,” and that “pussies like Romney and Giuliani will never stand up for what’s right.”
Turning on the Democrats, McCain also said that “freaks like Sharpton won’t know what to do with a guy like Ron.” Sharpton quickly responded that McCain’s remarks showed that he and Paul are racists, though he was unable to specify what made them racist since he “hadn’t head the details of what McCain said yet.”
